TIME TO PAINT!

To paint this white fur you will need:

  • Acrylic paint (white, blue, brown, black, grey)
  • Large pointed paintbrush
  • Canvas
  • Water

Step 1:

Cover the canvas in a coat of mid-grey paint. Then add a little blue and brown to the paint to make it a shade darker and use this paint to map out the shadows. This will be the darker areas beneath the clumps of fur.

Step 2:

Once you have added your shadows, use white paint to paint in the lighter areas of the fur. This will be the tops of the clumps of fur, where the light is hitting it.

Step 3:

Increase the contrast by darkening the darker areas of the shadows, right underneath the clumps of fur. Mix a shade of grey that is slightly darker than the shadows then paint directly under the fur.

Step 4:

If you feel like the fur needs softening a bit, just use the same shade of grey that you painted the background with and gently brush the paintbrush over certain areas of the canvas to blend it together. Try not to overdo it though!

Finally, add some fur details by watering down some white paint and flicking the paintbrush back and forth to get the finer fur lines.
